And not just because the entire family was awful to Meredith for no reason . .but also because this couple falls in love with each others' siblings after what, 2 days together?? Ridiculous plot.

I was really looking forward to watching it because it seemed quite popular.
It was completely insufferable, the family were awful and the story was boring. There's plenty of better dysfunctional family films set during the Christmas period. For instance.. Surviving Christmas starring Ben Affleck was fun, not at all pretentious and light hearted. I know this film was meant to have a dark undertone and was a drama rather than a comedy but I just didn't enjoy it at all. That's however just my own opinion, I'm sure plenty of people liked this film. The only relatable part was how it can be hard accepting a new member into the family.
