Yeah, I think she is just showing respect to Sam's dad by not changing her uniform or wearing rollerblades.

Rhonda had great respect for Sam's Dad and for Sam, she didntw ant to follow Finoa's orders, as Rhonda said, the only reason she stayed with the job that she hated was because she wanted to help Sam.
