The Cliche List

Another teen movie where we listen to the buff goodlooking school captain go on about how nobody understands him and he isn't enjoying is perfect life. How he would rather write poetry than play football. Coupled with the nasty but hot current girlfriend who is obsessed with popularity.

Throw in the downtrodden girl who faces a hard life but scrubs up well for the party. The best mate who come goods in the end and the braindead football mates who seem to have had a frontal lobotomy leaving them only capable of saying "dude" or "she's hot" every five minutes.

The film helps to tick all the cliche checklist for teenage flicks.

1. The cast are for the most part unbelievably good looking.

2. The only one of the cast who is overweight is the compulsory fat character brought in for comic relief or give us all a lesson about inner beauty.

3. The only one's going on about inner beauty are the good looking cast members.

4. The main male lead is the school captain and football team captain. He hates having a perfect life and would rather write poetry than play football.

5. The main female lead (and also most unpopular) is good looking too - she just learns to be more confident.

6. The best mate ends up happy as well.

7. Bad pop music is played throughout.

8. The main male lead's best mates are only capable of saying "dude" and "she's hot". They make inappropriate comments constantly while our noble male lead shakes his head in disbelief.

9. We get a long speech about values and morals at the end of the movie.

10. The main cast members are going on about college.

11. The main characters are played by caucasian actors. The black actors are relegated to supporting roles.

12. The cheerleaders are morons.
