Somebody explain to me why Child Services were never called?

i mean seriously what that b*tch for a step mother was doing is basicaly considered slavery and child abuse, and the worst part is everybody knew what was going on so how come they never called Child Services? because that situation would have been resolved quick.

Because then there wouldn't be a Cinderella-style movie at all.

Tony Stark: Let's face it, this is not the worst thing you've caught me doing.

Well because believe it or not, Social Services want to keep as many kids OUT of the foster system as possible so they would not view Sam's situation as being dire enough to take her away from her guardians. Fiona didn't physically abuse Sam at all. She gave Sam a place to live (she had her very own bedroom). Yes we all know that Fiona was horrible and just plain mean to Sam, but if Social Services came they would see it as a teenager not getting along with her parent (which happens all the time) and a parent who makes their child do chores and earn/work for things (which parents do all the time -- I worked all throughout high school to pay for my car insurance, my clothes, going out with my friends, and then I worked through college to be able to pay for it). It isn't a crime to favor some of your children over others; it's not morally right because every parent should love their child unconditionally, but it isn't a crime not to.

Not sure about that, it's called emotional abuse and I think that yes Sam could have been removed from her care. She doesn't treat her like a daughter.
But as someone else pointed out this is Cinderella and if it didn't happen there wouldn't be a story! :)
I think there have been cinderellas where Cinderella has been treated worse...

From what I saw, the only crime committed was forcing Sam to work over school.

Or too many hours. Aren't teenagers limited to a certain amount of hours each week?

reply

Yeah, they are but I live in WA states and they go as far as to say that 16 years olds get 80% min. wage, can only work 18 hrs and have to have school permission too. I am sure Kali. is way tighter in child labor laws. Or she could even go as far as paying her under the table which makes that a federal crime for tax dodging.
