Eurotrip had a flawed plot

Euro Trip was a great movie, but it was severely flawed in that the guy could have just sent her an email from a different email address after she blocked him. No real reason to creepily show up at her doorstep in Germany...

lol I was thinking the same thing

honestly if I was her and he just showed up, I'd be like wtf

I don't think a 15 minute movie has much box office appeal

reply

It didn't really have a flawed plot. It's just that nobody thought of it. These aren't the brightest characters around.

reply

So they thought of travelling all across Europe but not to create another email? Yea I guess they aren't so bright lol

You missed the point. Sure, he could have created another e-mail account, but he's worried that he just fudged things up with a girl he loves, a girl who was going to fly to America just to be with him. Cooper tells him that Fiona is right, that he's so 'predictable' and he wants to do this fantastic thing to kind of show he's not. He also wanted to prove how serious he felt about her. Obviously Mieke had strong feelings for him if she was going to go to America and creating another e-mail address and sending her an apology would have been insincere and she probably would have ignored it. So, the plot isn't flawed, you just have to understand where Scotty is coming from.

what he said.

Also what he did isn't creepy, it's romantic. Obviously none of you who say otherwise have been in love before, but traveling halfway across the world for a girl is a pretty impressive and touching thing to do.

Maybe she had her inbox set to receive mail only from addresses on her address book.

Good guys may not finish last but they sure as sh*t don't finish first!

reply

Maybe she talked to her ISP to block all incoming communication from Scott's range of IP addresses.

reply

Maybe she was too busy having sex with her cousin Jahnn on the computer desk.

I thought it had a flawed plot, but for a different reason. He says all he knows is her name, and she lives in Berlin (and presumably that she has a cousin Jan), but they find her flat right away upon arriving. I mean he even states she is unlisted!

Haha, but it is no worse than a Lufthansa plane from Ohio to London... Thankfully is was funny, otherwise the plot holes would be fatal.

reply

Haha, I wondered about that too, but what about this? He thinks that Mieke=Mike and Jahnn=Jan. If he knew any German at all he would have figured the names out pretty quickly. Not that anything in this movie is remotely realistic!
