I used to really love the weirdness of the ending, but... *Spoilers*

I thought about it all and it really DOESN'T make sense. Wouldn't someone come to look for Tyler and Alice? And even then, why would they release the Grandma into the care of Ghost in the first place?

Other than a few inconsistencies, the ending is extremely odd and I love it, even though nothing can beat the emotion of the first film's ending.

Julie, you're not responding to my maleness!

I guess the point isn't whether anyone would come looking for Tyler or Alice (assuming they told anyone where they were going, and you can't depend on that). The point is that probably, Ghost didn't think forward to anyone coming looking for Tyler or Alice. After all, much of the film's story stems from the weirdness sloshing around inside Ghost's mind.

Since Ghost escaped from the hospital before she was supposed to be released, I'm guessing (I haven't actually seen the very end of the movie but I read a detailed synopsis on another website) that Grandma was going home by herself. She expected to live alone while Ghost was stuck in the nuthouse.

reply

But wouldn't Grandma have told people that Ghost tried to kill her now that she's out of her body cast and can talk?

reply

wasn't she institutionalized for trying to kill her grandma?

reply

No. They didn't know that she was responsible for her grandma's accident. She was at the rehab center/hospital because she had nowhere else to go. Brigitte was the first person to discover the truth. But presumably once her grandmother is out of her cast and can communicate, she can tell people that Ghost is the one who did it.

reply

okay then, I have no explanation, especially since I haven't actually seen the entire movie (75%)

reply

Oh, you should. It's not perfect but I really enjoyed it. IMO, the Ginger Snaps movies are great takes on the werewolf myth.

reply

I only missed parts because I walked in late when it was on cable and then fell asleep before the end (not a comment on the movie, if I sit down on my bed and turn the TV on, I just automatically fall asleep, even if I'm not that tired. ;) I'll make sure to watch it when I get a chance.

I have written continuations of both films on fanfiction.net, in the case of the first one - to make Bridgette get from point B in GS1 to point A in GS2. In the case of the second one - to address the holes you mentioned in your post.

That ending had a lot of problems to me. You skip the problem that there's no way that cellar with that flimsy lock is going to hold a werewolf.

If I begin to list all the ways that ending is wrong, I'll begin to go into all the ways the movie itself went wrong.

This movie has some good scenes, but if it weren't for Emily Perkin's performance, this movie wouldn't be worth it.
