You gotta take that with a grain, nay, a bag of salt.
First, writers and directors want to keep their options open, just in case. If asked, they're not going to tie down anything that's not in the movie if they don't have to.
Second, they usually have the opinion, right or not, that the work speaks for itself, that you should draw your own conclusions based on what's in the movie.
Third, since it's not in the movie, the writer(s), script consultants and director may all have different opinions about who it is.
Brigitte makes it clear at one point that the creature comes from suburbia, like herself. Now, most likely, that means she knows who it is. So, she knew the guy before he shape-shifted? Or was it just Brigitte pointing out to Ghost that she herself was from suburbia, so this werewolf's origins might be that mundane?
I did say in another thread they should have made a sequel set before Unleashed just explaining who the werewolf is and how it ended up stalking Brigitte. Unleashed takes place two years after GS, and that werewolf tells us something very interesting took place in that meantime.
And that's true whether it's Jason or not.
(PS. I just thought of this: if it's not Jason, maybe Brigitte created it? Since it's stalking her like an ex, maybe it's a hint that Brigitte is no longer a virgin.)
