I don`t agree. I think it was a good film with great fight scenes.

Yea the fighting I liked he was great with that just thought the rest was horrible. I know it was low budget but it just felt real cheap and all the ebonic talk was annoying plus the story was too cliche and they rushed scenes.

the fighting was good, the rest is called the...STORY , and it was a good one too. you are in the minority with this opinion. i dont get how anyone could dislike anything about it. the whole thing was amazing.

Michael Jai White is way over due for his spot light time. Deleted in Kill Bill, Geniously funny in Black Dynamite which was hard to find. He's been at it since before Spawn in 1999*, yet he has no complaints.
I believe he truely embodies the calm medetative/modest state his characters portrays in this film.
This film had a great story. Simple with complex characters.
I also recommend Fight Night, it's about a female street fighter. Not as great as this film, but very good for a straight to DVD production.
The story was a direct rip-off of Van Damme's Lionheart but with much more interesting characters and fighting.
I literally went back and watched Lionheart before viewing this film and by comparison Blood and Bone runs a hundred circles around it in every way. The fighting in Lionheart was soooo Hollywood-esque and there was nothing realistic about them.
I liked how they portrayed MJW's character to know exactly who he was and what he was doing. I admit parts felt rushed but the overall movie was pretty darn good and is so far one of the best recent fighting/action movies alongside Universal Soldier: Regeneration.
OP is entitled to his opinion, but this was a good movie all round.
