How are full prosthetic people supposed to look like?

I mean in many occasions people have identified Kuze and the Major as being full prosthetic just by seeing them.

like in S2 when the kid that wants to be a cyborg tells just by looking at her and says she has the most realistic prosthetic body he has ever seen.

their skin look like plastic and their eyes are dull

Man that is messes up, the world would be so creepy with plastic-faced people walking around. Makes me think about the live action remake

i just read the graphic novel and i doubt that the skin looks plastic. it would seems that so much it put in to make tham have a sense of touch.

They’re probably identifiable through their perfection. They’d have a very artificial 'too perfect' look anout them. Like actresses who have undergone too much Botox or plastic surgery. Whist I guess prophetic faces would be made with every effort to resemble a real face you probably can’t recreate those natural imperfections we all have.

Why do people so frequently get told to "read the book" on a movie database?

reply

Pretty much this, although I think the actresses who have undergone too much botox/plastic surgery example is a bit off, that looks far from perfect.

Better example would be The incredibly airbrushed pictures of models/ celebrities we see all the time in magazines. Moles, wrinkles, as many visible inperfections as possible are removed, with prosthetic bodies they wouldn't have been there in the first place unless it was intentional.

"They're coming out of the Goddamn walls!"

I pretty much agree with everything everyone has said one here but want to add that I've always felt that full cybernetic bodies in the world of Ghost in the Shell was always a way that the show could comment on how "anime" people would look in the real world.

Because at least as far as I've noticed, Motoko is one of the few people in GITS that actually looks like a traditional anime character. Many of the other characters who aren't as cyberized have much more weathered and human appearances, with wrinkles, age lines, and facial details in general that aren't really seen in many anime.

It's almost like the show is pointing out how artificial that type of character design is in comparison to reality.

I like that idea, it does seem plausible when watching it.
