Tachikoma Question
Okay, I know it's just a 'toon, but they've gone to great lengths to make everything as real as possible, so...
How do the Tachikoma motivate? Their wheels are more like furniture casters than tires and seem too small to: (1) provide the amount of speed they ride at (on the highway), and (2) provide the braking ability they show at those speeds. If the wheels do provide the motivative force, then the amount of stress/heat that would build up would be enormous at the revolutions/minute they'd be going. Not to mention that when stopping, one side of the wheels would slice off from the friction.
Anybody know?
