I read somewhere that he was willing to do another season if fan were vocal. Necessarily doesn't want to destroy this series relevance by doing numerous seasons that cant produce the same quality of previous seasons. I'm hoping the 3rd season does happen.

I don't know much about the economics of the anime industry, but how influential would the international audience be? I don't think it'd take that much of a push regardless; Ghost in the Shell is a huge name with a huge fan base--there was a new movie release this year (a 3D rerelease of Solid State Society) so they haven't given up.
I'm optomistic--several shows have come back recently (and not so recently) I never thought would, like Futurama and Firefly, but chief among them Arrested Development, which was major
