one of the best dvd commentary's I have heard

The dvd commentary by director Jean Pierre Jeunet is excellent. He never stops talking, being interesting and explaining this and that about the movie unlike some directors who end up watching their movies and then only breaking into a commentary after 20 minutes like Rob Reiner did on When Harry met Sally. Top marks to Jeunet for his work. More please

The extras on the Amelie DVD are excellent, also. As a director, he seems extremely generous with his explanations.

Plus he is an awesome director. After Amelie, Delicatessen, and A Very Long Engagement I have become a big fan of his.

True, he gives *great* commentary. Unlike others, such as William Friedkin and Taylor Hackford, whose commentary is truly abysmal.

The best commentary I've ever heard is Julian Fellowe's for Gosford Park. He was the screenwriter and not only clarifies the story but tells very funny anecdotes from his life that inspired bits of dialogue, about straddling the worlds of Britain's upper class and the movie business, about the social and political forces that have practically destroyed the most visible vestiges of an antiquated class system. Plus, he hilarious. I enjoyed his commentary as much as I did the movie. And it's a very good movie.

I agree ... look out for "Mic-Macs".

But you ARE Blanche ... and I AM.

Glad to hear it - I just watched the movie last night and I'm moving onto the commentary today.
