5.8 rating as of Jan 14...?

I mean listen, it's not the greatest comedy of all time, or the best film, but anyone with a sense of humor should get a kick out of it...

I give it a solid 6.6

Agreed, Phillip Seymour Hoffman ALONE made it worth watching.

It was worth watching, but not because of Hoffman. Normally I love Hoffman's acting but he didn't do much with what he was given, unlike Alec Baldwin (who more evidently takes his comedy seriously -- he was spot on!). The movie worked well with Stiller's great physical comedy toward its beginning, with Hank Azaria, the hairy basketball opponent, and when dating Jennifer (hilarious toilet scene), but it later fell apart with its poorly written ending. Similarly dissappointing as "Something About Mary" (strong beginning/weak ending), but worse. I suspect Hoffman cruised a bit in this one.

Yeah I agree. It's a good movie. It's not as good as Meet the Parents but definitely still worth watching
