It was worth watching, but not because of Hoffman. Normally I love Hoffman's acting but he didn't do much with what he was given, unlike Alec Baldwin (who more evidently takes his comedy seriously -- he was spot on!). The movie worked well with Stiller's great physical comedy toward its beginning, with Hank Azaria, the hairy basketball opponent, and when dating Jennifer (hilarious toilet scene), but it later fell apart with its poorly written ending. Similarly dissappointing as "Something About Mary" (strong beginning/weak ending), but worse. I suspect Hoffman cruised a bit in this one.
