only ONE nomination?

Charlize Theron seriously deserved her Oscar, she was dynamite in this movie. Her performance might even haunt me for a while. But to think, no one else received Oscar nominations for their work in this?? Are you kidding me? No Best Director, Best Screenplay or Best Performance nomination for Christina Ricci? This movie was solid all around, and it was a shame that none of the other talent was recognized, even though Theron stole the whole movie.

I'm surprised it didn't get a nomination for make-up as well. I've never understood how it missed out on that one.

reply

That's the one I was wondering about, too.

reply

Absolutely, and to think that Make-up always only have three nominees! Why is that anyway?

reply

Yes I agree. Christina Ricci delivered a DYNAMITE performance, and should have received a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination.

reply

Yeah I never forgave the Academy for not giving Christina Ricci a nomination for Best Supporting. She was a knock-out. Just because her transformation wasn't as visible as Charlize's doesn't mean the intensity wasn't there. I bet Christina felt hugely snubbed.
