It's too bad..

I was looking forward to this movie, the title caught my attention immediately and the fact that it involves pool made me excited...

Unfortunately, the more I look into it, the less interested I become. The writer/director doesn't appear to have done anything worthwile, few movies being ranked over a meer 5.0 rating on IMDB. It seems that most of the films are a touch over the b-grade side, but without a cult following.

Freddie hasn't done anything worth noting, unless your a 14 year old girl...

Devan Sawa and Ving Rhames are the only to actors who appear to be worth noting, but I doubt they will be able to carry much, because I'm guessing the script will be sub-par.

Poolhall Junkies worked because Mars is a pool player... And it showed in the movie. He was able to contribute some authenticity to the film. I really don't see that happening here. Of course Poolhall Junkies did have Christopher Walken, who I (and most people I know) will watch in anything. He alone added more to Poolhall Junkies than I believe both Devan and Ving combined will be able to do here.

Time will tell...?

And I agree with you about the Freddie thing lol. I was a fan of his at one time, but the whole teen flick gets old.

What does sub-par mean?

"Poolhall Junkies worked because Mars is a pool player" - didn't know that!

But hey I guess you just never know what this movie may bring :) For devon sawa fans, they're just happy to see Devon in a new movie again! (like me)

Yes, I agree with the comments regarding this "movie" and Poolhall Junkies. In regard to Poolhall Junkies, let's not forget that in addition to C. Walken, the movie included Chazz Palminteri doing a great job portraying the greedy, selfish mentor; and vastly talented Rod Steiger as the poolhall "sage." But what I really want to know is, what is up with Roselyn Sanchez? She went from playing a key supporting part in Rush Hour 2 to accepting, practically actively seeking out, sterotypical one dimensional roles that do not enhance her level of acting talent. Does she just really aspire to be only on-screen eye candy? Not that there's really anything wrong with that.

I think that your pitiful attempts to prove that Freddie is a bad actor are about to crash!Although he's one of the good-looking guys in Hollywood,that's not the reason why i DO love the way he acts!Shame on you-i am NOT a 14 year-old girl!!!

When I saw Devon was making a new movie I got really excited. But then I looked at the cast and saw Freddie Prinze Jr. was credited first, probably meaning he's the main character. All my hope for this being a good film went out the window. Freddie SUCKS at acting, no matter if he's doing a teen flick or a serious drama. I don't even think he's good looking. And no, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I am a 15 year old girl.

its annoying thought because this movie probably is poorly written, and Devon is a great actor (i don't know anyone who argues against that)

But he still needs a 'big break' so to speak. As it seems his talent keeps being wasted on rubbish straight to dvd/vidio movies...
