Whose Point of View?
Spoilers ahead (like you were going to see it anyway):
We've heard the plethora of insanely unrealistic elements this movie wants us to swallow, so no need to really rehash that. The only thing I want to know is why the playback of the future events witnessed on the device screen is made up of movie style shots. The big 'what Michael saw' event is composed of shots like a Close Up of the gun shooting him, a tracking shot of the bullet soaring (in slow motion) through the air toward him as we zoom in, etc. Whose point of view is this supposed to be from? John Woo's? Hilarious. I mean, I get that the movie doesn't take itself seriously, but come on, a lot of this stuff is like John Woo just wasn't even trying. And this movie undoes all the good Uma Thurman has ever accomplished in her career.
What's sad is that everyone seems to want to excuse dumbass garbage like this while ripping apart films like Inception that at least make an effort at being smart, thinking films. But I digress.
