Well, I liked it....

Surprised this board is so dead. Thought more people would finally get to see it this weekend. It was a very good film. Not a masterpiece as I'd hoped, but I think it was a decent adaptation and I liked the performances and direction. It could have been better, but wasn't bad at all.

I am also a bit surprise the board is so quiet. I can't see the movie until Monday or Tuesday. I was hoping to get some feedback from those that saw the movie. Coop032, how many people were in the theater?

I'm from Dallas and it only played at 2 of our arthouse theaters. I saw it Satuday afternoon and Id say there were about 20 people there. From what I could tell most everyone there liked it including me, my wife, and my 55 year old mother.

I saw this movie like 3 months ago. Honestly, it wasn't bad, but it wasnn't great. If you read the book you'll understand why it wasn't the greatest idea to adapt it into a film. It's a great book, but it just doesn't work as a film IMO.

I saw it in Atlanta. It is only playing in one theater. I went to the 4pm showing, with only 12 other people. I feel bad for the three leads. I wish is had a much earlier release. I really believe the three deserved award recognitions.

Check On Demand, with your cable or satellite provider. I think most are carrying it.

Just saw it here in Seattle. It finally opened up here last week after its X-Mas release date! It played for only one week at one theater here and is now playing at probably our best art house theater although its small. I saw it on a Sat night and there were only 6 people in the theater including myself! I don't get it?! I liked it a lot, but as you said its not a masterpiece. a lot in the book was left out, and some scenes that come later in the book, they put in more of the beginning of the movie. That said, it was still a great movie.
