I didnt even realize this movie had been released!
What happened there? was it just a select theatre showing or is it more of an "indie" film festival movie??
I remember hearing about it being made, but then nothing.

According to Box Office Mojo, the film opened to at least 107 theaters over the course of 16 weeks. Before its release, On the Road was plagued with distribution problems and received zero buzz despite its star cast, revered director and acclaimed source material. When it opened into other markets, it suffered mixed reviews and made a small sum of $720,828 on the domestic level while grossing $8,040,022 in foreign sales. Produced on a budget of $25 million, it's safe to say this indie flopped and went nowhere.
P.S. If you're thinking about watching this boring adaptation, save your time and look for another Walter Salles road movie called The Motorcycle Diaries.

Yeah the marketing on this film was horrible. If I wasn't looking out for it I would have never known it existed.
