Did this just go straight to DVD in the US?
I heard that it was out, and see it on Redbox. I don't remember seeing it advertised at any of the theaters around here at all.

shareIt opened in 4 theaters on December 21, 2012. It then expanded over the following weeks until it reached 107 theaters at its widest on April 5. It was in release for 16 weeks (112 days) through the last weekend in April. It's domestic total was $720,828. Its foreign total was $8,040,022. Total was $8,760,850. It ranks as the #214 of 640 movies in release over the past 365 days.
shareThanks. I never saw it advertised or on theater signs at all, here in Maine. And I was waiting for it.
shareI don't know about other cities but movies like this go to the more artsy cinemas in my city. It would never go to the main theatres. Even The Assassination of Jesse James didn't go to the main theatres here. Some of them only stay at the theatre for like a week and are gone. We have the Sundance cinema which plays the independent artsy movies, before that there was the Westgate Art cinema.
for future questions about whether a movie went strait to DVD look at the release dates right under the movie title on the imdb page. next to the rating and run time. It will say wide release, limited release, only NY and LA, Strait to DVD or whatever the case may be with the country next to it.
this is not meant to be rude but apparently some people are unaware of the release date section.
I always remember this generic thriller starring Samuel L. Jackson that went to the main theatre here for 1 week and then was gone called No Good Deed. I was like what the hell is this movie that's playing here LOL I had never even heard of it.
Yeah, I guess that I could've. But it's so much easier and fun to post here.
Also, I kind of figured that it was in theaters somewhere. It was more of a reaction post, like, "WTF - I was waiting for this to come out, and totally missed it?"
Yeah it got a very limited release. Never came to my town BTW. I bought it when it came out on blu-ray and finally watched it today. Good show. I was surprised by how much I liked it. Very impressed.
"The world is coming to an end. So where would you rather die, here or in a Jaeger?"
That was a terrible time to release an indie film like this, when it has to compete with all the Oscar hopefuls and holiday blockbusters. What were they thinking?
