Where is the original cut?

Noticed the original version ran 137 minutes. This video clocks in at 124 minutes. Is this home video version the only one being offered? Makes you wonder what is different between the two.

The original cut was released on DVD in France (where the film's producers are based) — you may still be able to order it — it's called Sur La Route in French. And yes, it's the longer version. ;-)

Just got an Australian import blu ray (region free) from eBay. This version clocks in at 139 minutes.
I refuse to watch the cut version.

On the DVD extras there is the scene where Dean drives recklessly in the limousine and a couple of others including an extended opening intro to Dean. Guess they are in the uncut version.

i thought the deleted scenes which are extras on the dvd were good and should have been kept in. that's pretty rare.

There's a good article here that goes into some of the differences between the two versions ...
