Anyone else agree? I thought he did as great job as Dean. And I look forward to some more of his work

You got to see him in "Country Strong". OMG!!! This boy is great and he sings as great as he acts. Not too many guys make me swoon...lol

I saw this performance two weeks ago and am still thinking about that last scene and the truthful expression on his face....Great actor!

He is a brilliant actor.

Admittedly, he delivered his very own (and/or the writer's) interpretation of Neal Cassady - but he portrayed the "real" Neal quite poorly. Look up photos, look up film footage, read the portrayals. Garrett looks and acts like a modern hipster kid, a boy, whereas Neal was a buff, big, jocky-looking man. Clearly, Salles didn't aim for accuracy, but who would portray Abraham Lincoln as a jive-talking hustler? Or Madonna as a laid-back Christian? Or Harrison Ford as the hilarious center of the party?
