Should have been one quick-cut ecstatic video-clip

The excitement of the novel lays for a very big part in the ecstatic, lyrical and frenzied writing style. If they wanted to copy the feeling of the book, they should have focussed more on the style then the story. It's how it's told that makes it great. The movie was so boring compared with the novel, it didn't capture the excitement at all. Maybe with quick cuts, fast rythm editing it could have worked. This is just boring melodrama.

Agreed, they needed to do *visually* what the book does verbally.
