The version airing on Showtime cable features the car masturbation scene
It's missing from the DVD/Blu ray release?

Well, I thought that scene was a bit of a fantasy really, because who can operate his left hand as good as his right? Or in this case, hers. I am right-handed and I find using my left-hand for, say, opening a tin of beans quite a hard thing to do. Pumping a bicycle tyre with one's left hand when one is right-handed, well, will that pressure ever come up?I sometimes wonder what it must be like for people who unfortunately have their left or right arm torn off by a circular saw or something. (People just don't take enough care with those things.)
But back to the movie and I noted that Sal it was who was riding shotgun on MaryLou's right, while driver Dean had to be satisfied with her left. Anyone know whether the gal was left-handed?
So, in fact, if something like this actually happened to the real Sal (Kerouac) on the road, I'd be surprised if he had remembered it with fond nostalgia or frustration, especially as those old cars weren't too comfy in the suspension.
I read On The Road 20 years ago and it was probably a cleaned-up version. Maybe there's a dirty edition available?
On The Road was heavily edited/censored and Jack's original draft was not published until the version called "original scroll". This movie is based on both versions of the books, other peoples biographies, interviews, etc.
shareit's in there on Netflix as well.
