of the light, the shapes, the colours of those days. My three teenage children two sons and a daughter 18, 16 and 14 all loved this film.Yes they like action films and quite liked Avatar but they are getting bored of special effects. We have an enormous collection of films some old and some new and it is interesting to see that it is the classics they watch again and again.
Yay, I am not the only one under 40 who actually liked this film! I am also getting tired with a lot of movies these days, the special effects are making movies look fake, therefore that takes away the enjoyment of watching them (it does for me anyway). I had a hard time sitting through Spider-Man 3 because it looked so fake. Anyway, back to your point, the paintings were absolutly gorgeous. I am not a painter, or an artist (I can't even draw a stick figure I am so bad lol), but if I were, I would want to paint like that.
Well, im 20 years old male and also quite enjoyed this flick, but then again I happened to like character-driven movies. Sure its a bit slow sometimes, but isn't that the point of character movies?
It is an absolutely beautiful movie, with breathtaking cinematography and wonderful art direction. I wish I could paint like Vermeer could, hell I wish I could paint at all!!!
But I do enjoy movies with special effects as long as they dont take over the plot. I enjoyed "Avatar " for instance!!
i'm 23 now but i was 14 when i saw this and it was my favorite movie!! & it still is in my tops. my friends really hated it because of how quiet it was [which i like, my other favs were secretary & lost in translation] lol so no you're not alone! OP i know what you mean!! i am so jealous of the lighting! & i love how pale she is! i am an artist but i wasn't super into painting till i did a copy of this one. & an original. i wish i could post it lol
