Very awkward scene with Hermione, Ron, and Harry talking about writing each other and casually saying everything is going to change with smiles on their faces.

This film has SERIOUS tone problems throughout but the conclusion is AWFUL.
Everyone was glad Cedric was gone. Even the jungle wanted him dead.

One second you have Dumbledore talking about a dead kid and how wizard hitler was back and the next second everyone is weirdly cheerful during their goodbyes. I'm not asking for people to be in tears but be a bit more restrained, i dunno.
Because people are resilient. Have you ever been to a wake? Someone beloved has died, but the wake is a party. People laugh and tell stories.
The goodbye scene doesn't happen hours after Cedric's death. It is days later. They have made friends among the other schools. This is a chance to celebrate and be happy after terrible events; a chance to reclaim some normality in their lives. It is all very human and totally appropriate.

Remember when Dumbledore comes up to the Gryffindor bedrooms and talks to Harry? When he mentioned he hated the curtains and set them on fire in his 4th year? While Harry is describing what happened, Dumbledore says "You saw your parents that night." That implies pretty heavily that it had been at least two days, likely more. If it had been that night he would have said "You saw your parents tonight." If it had been the previous day he would have said "You saw your parents last night."
If I hadn't just been watching a marathon, I probably wouldn't have remembered that specific line, I just recalled that it had been some number of days since Cedric's death.
