Almost Epic Film- SPOILERS-You've been warned!

Just watched this film, and oh goddang! One of the most incredible, mind-phuq endings ever! A bit overstretched, cut 15 minutes and this piece would epic.
I read some of the posts on this board, and I think there's too much fixation on the one "scene". IMHO, I don't think some folks got quite got it.
Bud is a motorcycle racer who witnesses his pregnant girlfriend get ganged raped, then to add insult to injury, she dies at the scene, while he stood back and let it happen. Talk about losing one's mind! The man was a total wreck! He had to recreate his girlfriend as a crackhead whore, in order to bury his guilt, remorse and sense of responsibility. When he tells her he doesn't drink anymore, is that because his inaction was due to his being too wasted to realize what what going on? As someone who rolls in the biker world, I can tell you, Bud was probably a macho, hard drinking, hard partying guy, and that biker parties can get pretty wild. Or was she?

Trollkillah, I found your post insightful. There were connections I didn't see, but you were able to make your points without having to denigrate those people who *didn't* like the film.
Fair play to you.

Too bad roegcamel lacks similar self-control. His apparent glee at the film's BO receipts show where his shrunken wittle heart really is. If Gallo *tricks* (which is what Roegcamel as much admits) people into paying to see this wretched film, wow! Roegcamel finds that really admirable. Such a sensitive, sensitive soul. What a phony.

Don's going to fix it. He knows what that nut means to Utz and what Utz means to us.

Trollkillah, I couldn't have said it better. People are missing the entire point of this film because they're way too focused on 'the scene'- it's so much more complex than that. AH!!!!

You're assessment is not far from mine. I got something a little bit different. I think it definitely culminates to a could've/would've/should've on the part of Gallo's character. I got his 3 encounters with the women to be that love that he's attempting to do but ultimately walking away from because it's not quite the same as daisy (which i get, I've been there personally). As far as the climax and conclusion meeting with him and daisy? My take is this...

SPOILER AHEAD:

The fellatio scene plays a huge part because it's his way of dehumanizing daisy as per his contempt for her actions that he witnessed and did nothing about. Then the next part is his eventual breakdown and regret and feeling of absolute loss of the fact that he might not ever find another person like her to share his life with; that eventually makes him the most upset. The movie is definitely intense and getting there is half journey because you see it in the character's eyes how this girl is in 90% if not, close to 100% of all his thoughts.

It's a shame because the film did unfortunately garner the attention it deserved but for the wrong reasons. It's a movie that I personally love but will never recommend to anyone because I know for a fact it's not for everyone.

"It's too long" #1 dumbest complaint for a movie not being any good.
