Oh come on!!!

I didn't want to be the one to say it, but I had a friend who would feign schizophrenia like that in front of social workers, and therapists to get approved for SSI benefits. He did suffer from bipolar and borderline personality, but he said it was really hard to get SSI for those reason so he, and people he knew, would act schizophrenic by saying they would hear voices, people were after them, there was an evil presence all around, etc. He told me I should do that since I'd been denied for disability a number of times. There was no way could I act that well nor would I, so I never got approved.

I personally don't believe Shelley is making it up, but others on the Dr. Phil board accused her of doing that since she's an actress it wouldn't be that hard to believe that she could.
