Since the beginning of the show, I have felt that Robin was a typical trophy wife spending her husband's money on herself, her house and her children.
Maybe it's a good thing that she's actually contributing to the household income with her various businesses. She needs to find a different way to promote her products, however. I know her husband is only trying to help, but it is backfiring on both of them.

I wouldn't actually call it contributing to the household income because we all know that Phil foot the bill to get the product line going. So in essence it is his line...it's just her name on it. If it weren't for him no one would know who she was therefore no one would purchase her products.

petsrpeople...Donald Trumps wife is a typical trophy wife. When Robin married Dr. Phil he was broke and still trying to figure out what he wanted to do with his life. Do you really think Dr. Phil needs her money for the household? How is her promotions of her products on the show backfiring on both of them? Just because a handful of people on IMDb say so? That's really funny.

Any money she adds to the household is a drop in the bucket at this point, but it puts the relationship as a whole in a more balanced state, as she is not just going through his money at a frenzied pace. Dr. Phil has made thinly veiled jokes about this behavior in the past.
Yes, the promotions are backfiring on them. Is it on a grand scale? I don't know. A talk show is not the appropriate place to hawk merchandise. It cheapens the whole premise of the show. He loses credibility as a relationship expert when he is so easily manipulated by his own wife's desires.
Robin should stick to home shopping channels and infomercials. Regardless of who is paying for the exposure, it just looks so much more professional.
