The guy who sent hundreds of thousands of dollars to his Nigerian girlfriend is a medical doctor...yet, when asked by Dr. Phil why he hasn't spoken to her more than three times in six years the doctor stated "because she is living in squander." Squander! He must have gotten his medical degree on some island or online.
shareI wanted to watch this episode because I am endlessly fascinated by the people who send all this money to these scammers and think what they are doing is going to get them something or that they are actually helping some helpless human being. And they all seem to go on the Dr. Phil show! You're right though, these people that are supposedly educated or seem to have it together in all other ways are not very smart. I'm not saying I'm the sharpest pencil in the box either, but come on!
shareI, too, am fascinated by these people who send money to obvious scammers. They are truly the loneliest most pitiful people on earth (the senders of the money, not the scammers). They are needy too because, hello...what's wrong with being alone? These adults will do anything for what they think is love and it's so stupid and utterly pathetic. Needy, clingy, naieve and delusional is how I would describe them. The ones with the 70+ year old ladies with romantic interest in the 40 year old guys are utterly head shaking. If my mother or father ever did that I'd have them chaptered in to a facility where they could get professional psychological help.

And then when they were all finished with the show, a message came up on the screen that said he sent $500 to customs again! this guy is just really desperate and ignorant if he loves giving his money away so much he can send some over to me!
shareSo, he really didn't agree with Dr. Phil?!? What a scary thought that this man would be so gullible. I don't think they mentioned what type of doctor he is. Probably a Psychologist.. Your self esteem has to be in the gutter to fall for any of it. He would have been better off paying for prostitutes/escorts!! Its interesting that he met "her" on Match.com.
I'm wondering if it's primarily low self esteem or greed that fuels these easily scammed people because in a lot of the cases, they believe they will be getting money/riches in return.
I haven't watched part two of this yet, it comes on OWN tomorrow. But yeah, this guy is too much. How can you spend that much money on phantom boxes that you think contain million of dollars? Poor guy, I think he's just desperate, he thinks there's a pot of gold and a hot girl at the end of this rainbow. LOL!
