shareI'm becoming very bored with Dr. Phil and not bothering to watch lately. His format is the same every episode. He berates the guest until the final commercial break, then becomes compassionate and understanding before sending them off to some dual diagnoses centre.
If he did more follow up episodes I might be tempted to start watching again.

Follow-up episodes would add to the credibility of the show. I have to assume very few guests actually get any lasting positive results from his advice, or the producers would have them back.
When Dr. Phil started out with 20 people he was going to help lose weight, and only two came back with success stories, that spoke volumes.
