Kind of Far Fetched

I think this movie is kind of far-fetched. She happens to stand outside a real estate agency and an employee sees her, and out of the blue, invites her in for a cup of coffee and at the same time is offered a receptionist job?????? And if her primary job was to answer phones, why was she always going out on calls with them? I know she became an agent later but this was while she was still a receptionist??????

And she was clearly a hetrosexual all her life and all the sudden becomes attracted to Mac and shes in a gay relationship????????

And the last scene where Mac asks her about their moving in together, she says
"her son doesn't even know about her"! And this is supposed to be 6-8 months later and the son still hasn't figured it out!!!!! He looked to be at least 11 or so!!!! Unrealistic or the son is severely retarded!!!!!!!!!

OK the standing outside bit was forced but they had to meet somehow.

Actually you can think your hetro and then discover your bi (I did at 28) bisexuality is sliding scale, not bisexuals are equally attracted to both sexes. They can be attracted to just one member of the same sex and it still puts you on the bi-scale.And the relationship was about love not sexuality.

She had recently broke up with her husband she didn't want to lay the whole i'm with a woman thing on a young child.

In one scene, she asks if she has been fired, and she is told by the staff (all three) yes as a receptionist, but she now has a job as an agent.
I would say the son was sheltered at that point.

I'm so full of valium, I rattle.

She was bisexual not a lesbian. And who cares what you agree with. Lesbians don't.

My friend Amy's mom and dad were divorced and her mom took the 3 kids and moved in with her brother and his "roomate." They lived there for 8 years until they got on their feet. Now doing well, Amy's mom is still close to them both, as is Amy. Amy didn't figure it out until she was 16, when her uncle greated his partner at the airport in a loving way (i.e. run up and hug him). So, even the smart kids don't think about it and put two and two together to get four.

I think that this movie is 'fast-track convenient' rather than far-fetched. I'm glad that they took the convenient route, as I wouldn't wanted more than the 90 minutes running time. In which the movie would have tried to flesh-out explanations.

What I thought was a little bit odd was a line from the conversation in the car, between the daughter and her mom. When the daughter reveals that she had guessed that Mac was a lesbian. Mom asks the daughter how she had guessed, when Mac doesn't look like a lesbian. I thought it a strange thing to say from someone who said that she had brought up her daughter not to make judgements on people. Was it right for mom to say who looks like a lesbian and who doesn't?

this must be the reason why our social worker for prek to second grade students has the LGBT 'it's okay' poster ON THE OUTSIDE OF HER OFFICE DOOR. where kindergarteners and preschool kids [including her daughter] pass by.

even my coworkers who are lesbians agree with me that it is inappropriate to put that up outside in the hallway. inside the room, absolutely fine. but outside is just asking for trouble.

Oh God. Fortune vomits on my eiderdown once more.
