shareMy guess is that the hell hands in Final Friday only dragged Jason's body a few feet underground while his soul was sent to Hell. Freddy was able to persuade Jason to come back to life, similar to how discount Carrie accidentally brought him back in Part 7. Something like that.
Thit and thpin!
For some reason New Line Cinema never gave Jason any kind of continuity (not that Paramount was great at it, but they at least made an attempt).
In JGTH:
-Voorhees family members pop up everywhere, pretty much at random.
-Some bounty hunter guy no one knows has a beef with Jason--could have easily been retconned as Reggie from New Beginning.
-Jason has lived this long because of this strange ability to body hop until he finds a member of his bloodline, at which point he can regenerate, hockey mask and all (LOL!). How he keeps finding family members to hop into, well, hell if I know.
-He can be killed with a magical dagger by someone of his family line (double LOL!).
-At the end Jason's literally dragged into hell and Freddy's glove pulls his mask under ground.
In FvJ:
-Jason is buried in some random grave.
-Jason is now afraid of water--and the "subconscious" explanation is invalid, because he not only didn't mind it but THRIVED in it before.
-Gets his eyes cut out by Freddy but regenerates them virtually in seconds (WTF?) even though he suffered an axe wound in Part 3 that has stayed with him for decades.
In Jason X:
-The hell/magic dagger mumbo-jumbo is completely ignored. Instead, Jason is simply stated to have regenerative capabilities (which, again, doesn't explain why he retains some wounds and not others).
-In FvJ, Jason gets his fingers cut off. In Jason X, which takes place after it, they're back... ties into the "regenerating" nonsense.
Jason movies have never even tried to make sense in the past. No reason to have started with this one.
HE IS JASON...WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED?🤔
shareHe just was. No different than the movies from decades ago where the Frankenstein Monster improbably survives the last movie to terrorize the next batch of idiots in the followup. Hocum science for an explanation. That aside why would the devil want a minion taken out of commission versus being sent back to do his dirty work presumably for eternity?
