The story about the wars between men and robots in the second renascence is full of plot holes.

What I'm thinking of is that if ever there was a Matrix, Using it would have been a pleasure for human beings -just like video games today are-.

So people start using matrix, getting in and out again to their real lives and maybe paying for it. And at some point they become dependent on it.

As the time passes the majority of people use matrix and only a limited minority remain outside which arguably are not the hi-level ones.

Imagine matrix developing itself with the help of human during this time. And of course there are staff (some of them guards) to service the parts and hold the whole matrix thing running. Which are gradually (maybe within 1000 years) replaced by robots.

Then comes using human beings as bioelecrical power supplies which i don't agree and is an stupid idea. (Using the heat of the earth core can be more efficient...)

What happens is, when the minority react toward what they don't have and others do, the matrix and it's physical guards (robots) starts to protect itself as the representer of men inside to protect their rights.

What happens to men inside is that they get into system so much that they forget that reality ever existed (maybe during several generations.)

Seeing the success of Massive Multi player Online Games (ie. World Of Warcraft) today which have a massive amount of users and carry their own rules during the game play makes me think that all this is not far from reality to happen.

What I am saying is that, it is just a mater of time before humans are in matrix more or less.

I know this is an old post and you probably don’t care but i just wanted to say I’ve always thought the same about your "World Of Warcraft" theory...
I’ve always sat at my computer and said to myself, what if one day we had the technology to put people into the actual game and they became so dependent on it that they didn’t want to leave and eventually it took us all over and we didn’t know the different between the real world and the game world...

Ahaha i guess I’m glad I’m not crazy and that other think the same as well...

There's a notable plot hole in your theory too.
At the point where most people are in the Matrix, but some are still outside of it. How will the population grow? Then when humans are totally enveloped by the Matrix and robots run things, won't the population just die off? Especially since you said it would take around 1000 years.
Don't you dare say the robots make more humans...
Your theory fails.

I know this is an old post, but i can't believe no one has pointed out the biggest hole in that theory: Humans would never have been using the Matrix for pleasure, since it was created and programmed by the machines. Humans did not invent it. It is a prison, of sorts.
