No credit for 'African' language?

Mystery language... IMDB lists two languages for LCTR Cradle of Life (English and Mandarin). But there was lots of conversation with the people that lived on the African mountain--and in their language, too, requiring a translator--but it's not given credit. Does anyone know? I'd love to know. How can both IMBD and Wiki ignore it!?

reply

The DVD identifies the African language as Swahili.

Thank you, longshanks-5. Now...why can't IMDB be bothered to note that?? It lists just two: English and Mandarin. Duh! Did none of them ever listen to the dialog? Or don't African languages matter (the actual birthplace of language itself)?

The African language spoken in this movie is definitely Swahili. I speak it myself. Since the last part of the film was shot in Tanzania, the filmmakers chose Swahili which is the official language of the country.
