Wouldn't it have been better if... ***SPOILERS***

Wouldn't it have been better if Simon Cable (the main character) really did have amnesia and had flashbacks of the past two years of his life to try to find out if someone really was trying to poison him? Just a thought. I liked the movie until I realized it was turning into a Butterfly Effect/Jacob's Ladder ripoff, I really thought the movie had potential before that.

An interesting thought, but I have to say that your scenario has been done before (although I can't remember any titles offhand; maybe a TV movie?).

And actually, "The I Inside" was made BEFORE "Butterfly Effect" (but of course well after "Jacob's Ladder"), so it can't be a ripoff of the first. There is a thematic similarity to the second, but the plotline is so different that that similarity can be forgiven. After all, how many basic premises can there be? Like in love stories (and operas, for that matter), there are only a few basic premises (boy gets girl--boy loses girl--boy gets girl back, etc.) and then you have variations in setting, method, etc.

I think we all have to be a little more careful about throwing around the term "ripoff". Just my opinion...
