this movie reminds me of THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT very much. i would say that this was a rip off, because it came to my country (greece) this year while "BUTTERFLY" came last year, because they are so stupid in this country that cannot do anything right. i checked it right here, to see that butterfly effect was made a year after that, and besides that, the i inside, was based on a stage play which means that it was based on a older idea... why good independent films have always become huge studio teen movies, or promoted heavily out of a sudden years after??? like donnie darko?? cant they just leave them alone? i mean isnt it more intresting to have low budget, non blockbuster movies, as your favourites?? dont you just feel stupid , to have titanic or jurassic park or matrix as your favourite movies?? wouldnt they be more intresting movies, if they were not so well known, with less known actors, and not so big studio budget?? ... i guess this is just my opinion....
and yes i agree with you in some points. I saw this film in dvd last night and me and my husband thought of the butterfly effect.
and of course i agree to the statement that here in Greece, nothing is done right!
but i dont feel stupid when I say that The Matrix is one my favorite movies ever...I have read dozens of essays analysing certain aspects of it, read books, watched interviews...The Matrix is much more deeper that it seems..
but hey...every person in entitled to have different opinion!

i saw yesterday the i inside and i noticed that this movie reminds me one that i have seen the last year the butterfly effect.i live in greece and i am very dissapointed by the way things in movie market go here.good movies which arent blockbusters or coming from big studios are realised imiadiatly to dvd and they dont have the opportunity they diserve.there are lots of movies that are better than stupid huge movies but easy money make them lost in dvd stores.dont start with how this can influence the minds of youngs as the most they see is big heroes that are ready to save america from the big threat or kill monsters .there is no mercy for the rest of us.
"why good independent films have always become huge studio teen movies, or promoted heavily out of a sudden years after??? like donnie darko??"
"Donnie Darko" was essentially a big, flaming flop at theaters, the studio put as much money into it as they could with it being such a small budgeted film, it was never intended to be promoted like a normal film, however, following it's release on DVD the buzz around it built up so heavily that the production company contacted te director and asked him if he'd be interested in a re-reease, as the movie couldn't be completed to his satisfaction because of budget restrictions in 2001, so with more money, they could recut the final sequence and make the movie flow the way he wanted it to originally.
nothing extra was filmed, they just added back the stuff that was cut that was not intended to be cut. it was more of an issue with the cost of various effects than anything else, with mor emoney, the effects were cmpleted, the movie recut, and re-released to certain theaters. it did not receive some big wide release as you seem to imply, in fact,it played in less theaters during it's 2004 release than it did during it's 2001 release.
I don't care (or know) which one of the two came out first or was shot first or whatever, but I thought 'The Butterfly Effect' was a lot better than 'The I inside', although I enjoyed both. So even if 'The Butterfly Effect' is a rip off, then you gotta give it credit for being better than the original. And I would also like to take this opportunity to say that I've been reading several threads on both 'The Butterfly effect' message board and the 'I Inside' message board and I seriously hate people who claim the movies suck, because they didn't get it. How can anybody call a movie bad when you're obviously not smart enough to get it?? This is not to anybody who posted here in this thread, but simply something I just had to get off my chest.
I don't mean to be snotty here, but The I Inside and Butterfly Effect are almost NOTHING alike--their premises are completely different. Most particularly, The I Inside is NOT a time-travel movie.
I find a certain charm in your confusion.--from Making Love (1982)
The guy who said this ripped off Butterfly Effect(a laughably bad movie at times but an okay overall effort) is retarded. That movie came out after this one so... haha... how you figure that? Wouldn't it be the other way around or are you just in love with Ashton Kutcher?
He is in Greece and they were released there differently. He said he knows it's. Not a rip off. I get why he may thing the feel of the two movies are similar.
