Still don't know why they didn't...

...just dump the body. It would have made them completely avoid the situation and I doubt that chick would give a *beep* cause shes dead, ugh stupidest part of the movie.

Because stupid Erin wanted to be some saint saying they wouldn't want people to do that to them if they were in the girl's situation. It's all her fault in my opinion.

I think it was worth the risk. There is no way in hell I would actually go along with Erin and tell the police. They are just going to assume you killed her. If I were in the group I would have ditched everyone and hitchhiked home.

Maybe if they weren't in Texas or at least another part of it. Remember, when they went to Luda Mae, she did not seem phased by the situation and told them "what you do is your own business." So no, in that little area, they could have dumped the body, cleaned up and gotten away with it. Then yet, they never touched the gun anyway so should a real cop have found them a finger printing kit could have cleared that part up.

Yeah, but that's the thing, there weren't many people in the area and Charlie has been parading as a "sheriff" since 1939, four years before this group comes in contact with them. So it doesn't matter if they come across some kind person, if there is no actual, real law enforcement, they can get away with it in that area.

reply

I wouldn't have sought out law enforcement in THAT town. Travis County is close to Austin, so just...you know...go there and tell the cops.

reply

Even before they discovered the house, nothing about that town screamed safe or inviting. Would have left immediately for Austin or ANY other town.

reply

Then we wouldn't have a TCM movie!! Duh!
