one question before renting this...

... the scene where Winchell (Troy Garity)is murdered, how bad is it? I'm sensitive acts of violence and cruelty, and I've seen it so often in gay themed dramas that I was actually on pins and needles through out all of Kissing Jessica Stein, convinced that any moment a skin-head was going drop out of nowhere and kill one of them. My interest in seeing this movie is the love story and to see Lee Pace as woman. I don't particularly want to watch someone beaten to death or sexually tortured for eight gruelling minutes just because the director felt the need to show how awful violence is. I know how awful violence is. If this is Boy's Don't Cry 2, i'm out.

I watched the movie yesterday and the scene where Barry is murdered isn't all that graphic. You see the killer swing the bat a lot of times, but you only see him get hit once or twice. There is a lot of blood splattered on the murderer, bat, and the walls though. They show Barry's dead bloody body, but it's only as graphic as what you would see on CSI.

I loved this movie and I hope you decide to rent it, you won't be disappointed!

Thanks guys. Like Myrl I'm really sensitive to violence and can't stand to watch it, so I appreciate knowing ahead of time when/how much not to look.
