I rented this film from Netflix but do not get a menu and cannot see how to access the extras. Are there different releases of this movie, or is there a secret way to access the special features??

I bought the dvd for the extras and I too can not access them. There is no menu. They ARE listed on the DVD case.
I rented it from Netflix too and watched it just last night. It had a full menu with some good bonus features like, the real Barry Winchell story, interviews with the actors and the real Calpernia, behind-the-scenes make up on Lee Pace, and a full length feature commentary.
Wonderful movie and has some really good bonus features!

I think we got a bootleg copy. I got mine from Amazon.com and my copy WOULDN'T access the extras either. I've heard some people say they sent theirs back and they still got a bootlegged copy in return (that didn't work), and even had to pay for the postage. What a Rip-off!
shareThe Netflix copy (at least the one that I got) is just a repackaged screener for award competitions, hence the lack of menu, a preview for itself and the constant "Property of Showtime, Inc." at the the bottom of the screen.
I used to work for an Oscar winner who was provided many free screeners I was allowed to watch, and no screener I've ever watched has a menu or special features.
My Netflix copy worked perfectly. I watched the extras & thought that they were worth checking out.
