Did anyone else notice that Barry was referred to as being from Missouri at some points (like in the beginning with Callie's voiceover "Like all great Americans he was from Missouri"), but later she tells her friend that he's from Kansas. The real Winchell was from MO, so I guess this was a goof?

shareIf that were so she would have said Kansas City. This was a mistake. I'm glad someone else noticed it. It was so glaring, I kept thinking I'd imagined it and I couldn't bear to watch the movie again just to find out.
shareAt the beginning of the movie, Calpernia only said 'like all great Americans, he was born in Missouri'. In the DVD commentary, during the scene where it's said he's from Kansas, the real Calpernia mentions that he moved around a lot (presumably with his family). So that may be one explanation, and she was a consultant on the movie production.
