What the gay societies would have done for Barry?

Whenever I watch this movie, I just can't keep myself from welling tears for this miserable couple, espicially for Barry. I had bad experience, just similar to what Barry had met before he got killed. I know how awful the feeling was when people was humiliating and doing all what they can to chill you out. And I wonder what the gay societies would have done to support Barry, if he had reached out his hand for help before the tragedy happened...

Are there many gay societies in the U.S.? Who are they and do they have professional guys, volunteers to help guys in trouble like Barry?

Still working on my English, hope my statement is understandable :)

There are a lot of gay societies in the US, and several lawyers who handle cases related to GLBT issues and the military, from harrassment to dismissal. I'm not sure if there's a society for the non-transsexual partners of transsexual people, but if there isn't, there should be. I'm sorry to hear about the things you went through and I hope things are better for you now.

Holding out hope for The Front Runner.

There is PFLAG for family members, friends and so on of those in the LGBT community. There are also transgender community groups (depending on where you live) that meet where the partners of those who are trans can come for support. I have a lot of trans friends and in order to be a better ally to them I go to a local LGBT group that includes straight individuals like myself who just happen to have friends who trans or gay or bi or whatever have you. It depends on where you live but if you need support contact PFLAG or GLAAD
