Dead give away that it was a man (remember the mission?). Did/does she speak like that in real life? It was really the only issue I had with Pace's excellent performance

Calpernia is total fish. She totally has a female voice. I think they went with an actor playing the role to 'remind' us that the 'character' was transgendered. Though Lee Pace did good, I wish he had played the role more feminine because as I said, Callie is total fish!!!

Dammit Carol Sue, where is the vodka?!

I thought the same thing. Like with 'Transamerica' they should have used a genetic woman for the part. Lee came off as a gay male drag queen, not a believable woman.

I believe all transsexual women are getting hormonal treatment and it affects their voices. Lee Pace couldn't do that obviously.

Female hormones don't raise your voice. With female-to-male transsexuals testosterone does deepen their voice, however.
