Did Miss Desjardin Know It Was Carrie?

As she's helping people into the vent, Miss Desjardin breaks away from the group, and screams Carrie's name. Do y'all think this is because she knows that it's Carrie doing it & is begging her to stop, or is she just yelling at her to get off the floor?

I know in the novel, the entire town has this unexplainable telepathic knowledge that Carrie's the one causing all the destruction, but that detail was omitted from this film.

Something similar happened in the original '76 movie—when Miss Collins is forced against the wall right before the basketball backboard falls & crushes her, she screams Carrie's name. Although, in that instance, I think she knew, & was pleading with Carrie not to kill her.

But what do y'all think about Miss Desjardin?

Yes I thought it was clear she knew it was Carrie in this version. In the original she defo knew it was Carrie from the start of the prom destruction as when she goes on stage to see if Tommy is OK she's looking up at Carrie with a look of 'what the hell is she doing'. Them before she gets crushed she says' Carrie' Carrie no!' Knowing it was her.

Of course she knew. Like you said, she broke away and called her name. It was crystal clear.

Who's Betty Grable?!
