Underrated performance from the actress who played Margaret.

You can disagree for all you want, and I'm fine with it, because it's my own opinion. When I see Piper Laurie play Margaret, it *beep* up my brain, and it just made me feel that she is very psycho. However, this version's Margaret had a totally different effect on me. Whenever she said something that is really just heart-breaking or hands-down depressing, its just so chilling, like it made me have goosebumps. And the look of her dead stare, as well as the way she pauses for a while before doing violence on Carrie, is just a very different and great kind of performance, but no one would come to expect when they think of Margaret.

Precious needs to go to the gym everyday or else she will not survive.

Agreed. This Margaret was more sinister in her subtle acts and expression. She was more scary.

It is quite obvious that either the director or Clarkson (or both) wanted to take the character in the complete opposite direction of LaurieĀ“s portrayal. I think they went overboard with it - she is a little too subtle and understated. But I do like to see different acting approaches and I think Clarkson had a few great moments...

I like the quiet.
