OT: Who did/didn't go to their high school proms?

I was just wondering if anybody did or didn't go to your proms when you were in high school? I didn't because I had no one to go out with since I was lonely through out high school. I had friends (most of them guy friends), but I never had a romantic relationship until I was 23.

I did! loved it! I was living in Germany with my Navy dad and there were only 40 kids there (only 50 kids in the whole high school 7th-12 grade). Our prom would have been small with only 12 Seniors, so 9-12 were invited. There were only 6 girls in my class, and I got voted Prom Queen. I made my boyfriend wear purple to match my dress! The only thing that sucked was that my mom made me go to a all night supervised sleep over at the youth center instead of going out to party, because of my Freshman sister. boo.

You know maybe if you eat more comfort food you wouldn't have to go around shooting people.

I live in Ireland and we have ours at the end of the summer. They basically rent out a venue where there's a dinner, then the party and everyone stays overnight. I didn't go. It wasn't anything to do with the people at school - they were all nagging me to go. I remember not wanting to have to do the whole formal wear thing and not being much of a party person

I'm gonna die of long hair!

I did.

I didn't. I heard that when you're older, prom doesn't matter anymore. So I decided to skip the money, hang out with friends as usual, and a couple years after prom, I find I was a very wise high schooler. Prom doesn't matter in the end.

When I went it was called "The Junior Prom". But it gave everybody the chance to go. Even the Seniors so they would have one last chance to hassle the Junior class.

It was a single High School in a smallish town. About 200 kids in the whole school. So everybody knew everybody. Most of us really didn't get all duded up. We dressed nicely and took our dates. It was 1978 so you gotta know the Music was great!

We left fairly early and then afterward, some of my friends came to my place and we polished off the evening with a keg, and enough bud to make the music continue deep into the night. I lived walking distance so no driving was involved.

If there's a way to screw something up, the "O'Commie regime" will find it EVERY SINGLE TIME!! Only 340 more days of this Hell!

I didn't go. I was always very shy and was never into popular trends so I didn't really have much in common with most people. Sometimes I went the entire school day without speaking to a single person. I just went to school and then went straight home without really doing anything else.
