Worth watching?

I've seen the 1976 film and the newer one and just wondering if this version is any good?

Read that apparently it has the stones scene and Margaret dying like in the book and interviews with survivors so seems to be closer to the book.

Is it worth it?

This and the recent remake are the two best versions and way better than the original.

It's totally worth watching. It's better than the original. Just the ending is bad.

It's not as good as the 1976 film of course but it's still pretty good for a remake. I'd say it's worth watching.

its total crap compared to the original you can tell there trying but at the same time they try to be different at times an the different stuff dosent work none of the actors are better then the old ones except the tommy character the guy playing billy is horrible the cgi is weak to bad keep in mind this is all compared to the original if compared to the original its crap especially the ending on its own its passable

Not as good as the original, but still miles better than the 2013 "remake" that came out recently. The changed ending is a bit of a letdown, but I understand it was done as a pilot for a TV series based around Carrie (which I would not have minded seeing).

On the whole, a pretty good remake, despite the questionable cgi and ending. I enjoyed it.

I like this version very much. The weak spot for me is Patricia Clarkson—who I normally like—as Carrie's mother. She underplays, and loses a sense of hysteria and madness that should be inherent in Margaret White's character. She acts like she is on sedatives.

This version is also more faithful to the book and the ending, while a bit strange, is still unusual and original. The prolonged prom sequence is actually pretty good and gives us a good sense of panic and turmoil that the prom goers experienced during Carrie's destructive reign.

Don't eat the whole ones! Those are for the guests. 🍪

If you've ever read the book, no.
