car radio and romantic liasons

In S02 E06 [I think] we see and hear a radio in the truck Ben was in broadcasting Brother Justin speaking. The radio did look ancient yet should have been newish looking.

Considering the almost breadline existence of the whole road show this seems at odds. It was a very very new extra it seems to have, even in expensive motors, never mind a decaying truck. Supernatural manifestation??

Also considering the appearance of most of the crew as relatively unwashed let alone genital cleanliness it makes we wonder how congress was desirable. Water was in short supply me thinks in deserted desert areas.

Rita Sue had accumulated in excess of $400.00 dollars herself to give to her hubby I wonder how long that took and how much per head?? or otherwise was charged.

No wonder it was thought that Sex was a Dirty act.

I might finish this over the next two nights and hope for a reasonable ending to a fairly engrossing story.

Car radios in the 1930s were not only rare, they were expensive ($130.00). I see this as a possible goof on the part of the producers more than I see supernatural activity.

In the first season, they were listening to FDR on a truck radio in 1933. Very improbable. The truck was old.

My grandfather had a radio on his farm in Oklahoma before the Rural Electrification Act under FDR. It had a battery and when it ran down, had to be taken to town and recharged.

I don't know everything. Neither do you.
