Inventive and Engaging!
I started watching this on Amazon because I've always liked Nick Stahl, but halfway through the first season I realized it was really something very special.
The opening sequence with depression-era film superimposed over Tarot cards was brilliant and the music was subtle and haunting, but the biggest joy was the cast! What a remarkable troupe it was, especially Michael J. Anderson, the former NASA computer expert turned actor as Samson, and Clancy Brown, the awesome Brother Justin, who has a truly powerful presence on the screen. In fact, I can't think of a single character that I didn't appreciate. They all seemed to belong in that place and time.
I binged on the remaining episodes, having just finished last night and now, I'm having withdrawal pains! Why do the good ones never last? Not surprised to see that Tracy Torme wrote a few episodes, he excels in fantasy, and this show was fantastic!
