Type of show?

Sort of...but not really? This is a hard show to pin down, genre-wise. I hate horror and love this show, but as with, say, the X-Files, there have been a handful of "jump scares" for me. The X-files was nowhere near the horror genre, but did occasionally have scary elements.

That's where the similarities probably end. This show has magic rather than science and circus freaks rather than space aliens. No one is trying to take over the world, exactly, but there is a fight between good and evil going on.

I wouldn't call it a horror show but there definitely are a lot of horror elements. Lots of creepy stuff.

Yes a lot of Horror elements.
Especially the first half of the second season was downright scarry to me at the first watch.
