Knauf really should have compromised and wrapped it up

... with a movie. I mean, HBO owns the property. Presumably hd will never get the rights back. There was no point to NOT trying to wrap it up.

There was no way to do it justice. There was four seasons of story left. And as much as it sucks I'd rather have two great seasons and no resolution than a really rushed movie that leaves a bad aftertaste.

reply

I'd rather have an ending.

Look at Boardwalk Empire. A show can be wrapped up prematurely and still have a satisfying ending, if the writer can suck it up.

Even David Lynch was cool to make a film when Twin Peaks got axed.

reply

Some things in life do not get an ending. The Twin Peaks film sucks by the way. I like the way the show ended. I rather leave it open that doing a whole... it was all a dream.

Quit ya moanin

Really? Some things in life don't get an ending? Wow ... such wisdom!

Also, Fire Walk With Me was fine.

reply

Well, Twin Peaks is getting at least one more season so this is a terrible example.

How is it a bad example? Lynch still made Fire Walks With Me after the series was cancelled.

I'll bet if you asked him today, he would say he wished he'd wrapped it up.
As it is now, it will never get any kind of resolution. Getting all of the actors back together would, building sets, etc. would be nearly impossible.

Too bad FOX doesn't own the show. They seem to be keen right now on revivals with The X-Files and Prison Break.

I don't think so. Rushing an ending would have bastardized the entire show. They would have had to stick 4 more seasons into season two.
Maybe reducing the four remaining seasons into one more season (3) would have worked. But once wrapped up, you can't easily go back to revival.

True, we're left pondering about Brother Justin, Ben & Sofie. But all in all, a lot of things do wrap up. That good news for people who start watching the show knowing it won't fully conclude.

I don't believe that to be true. The actors would look authentically aged, you can make that happen if they agreed to come on. As for the sets, in this day and age they can make things happen. =)

It's not really a FOX kinda show. LOL 😊
And Prison Break really sucked after season 1, so I don't get why they would want to revive it.

Carnivàle would probably do well with Netflix, Amazon or Showtime...

No. Nick Stahl is a crazy drug-addict now and, from what I can tell, retired from acting.

Due to the lack of moderators, trolls can ruin the IMDB message boards. Don't feed them.

He may have drug problems - as do a lot of other celebrities. We don't know the guy beyond tabloid crap.

As for acting, according to his imdb profile, he's in two ongoing productions.
